Type: Dominant Prime is a two-component system consisting of component A and component B, mixed before use. Component A is a mixture of acrylic resin, additives purpose in organic solvents, component B – a solution of aliphatic isocyanate in an organic solvent.
Scope : Primer is designed for priming products from various types of wood, veneer before finishing with paints and varnishes. The primer is used as a primer under polyurethane two-component varnishes “Dominant Mebel”, “Dominant Parquet”. Provides material savings for finishing, facilitates the process of creating high-quality coatings. The primer is easy to apply, dries quickly, has good adhesive properties, and is well ground.
Specifications:
No | Name of the indicator | Requirements TNPA |
one | The appearance of the primer | Homogeneous fluid |
2 | Clean coating | Lack of mechanical inclusions |
3 | Conditional viscosity according to the viscometer of the VZ type – 246 with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm, at a temperature of (20.0 ± 0.5) ° С, s | 15 – 25 |
four | Mass fraction of nonvolatile substances,% | 23.0 ± 2.0 |
five | Drying time to degree 3 at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С, min, not more | 40 |
6 | The shelf life (viability) of the primer at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С, h, at least | 24 |
Surface preparation: The surface to be coated is pre-sanded with fine-grained 4-H (M40) or P280 / 320 abrasive paper, cleaned from dust and dirt.
Coating: Immediately before using component A and component B (separately), mix thoroughly, then add 0.5 part of component B to 9.5 parts by weight of component A, mix and incubate for 15-20 minutes. If necessary, use solvent P-32 (TU BY 500021625.194). It is forbidden to dilute the primer with solvent 646 (GOST 18188) and others like it, since this leads to a significant deterioration in the quality of the coating. If necessary, before applying the primer filter through a nylon mesh. The storage time of the primer is 24 hours in a closed container at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С.
The primer should be applied by pneumatic spraying or a soft brush with an initial viscosity at a temperature of ambient air, paintwork material and the painted surface not lower than 15 ° C, relative air humidity not more than 65%. Wood moisture should not exceed 12%.
The drying time of the primer is not more than 40 minutes at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С and relative humidity of air (60 ± 5)%. At lower temperatures or high humidity, the drying time can be increased.
Primer consumption on a single-layer coating is: when applied by brush – (90 – 110) g / m², with the method of pneumatic spraying –
(100 – 120) g / m² and may vary depending on the absorbency and roughness of the substrate, the skill of the master, the coating thickness and other factors.
Precautionary measures: when carrying out painting works in the enclosed space, and also after their termination careful airing is necessary. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands.
Transportation: according to GOST 9980.5 and STB 11.4.01.
Storage conditions : Store the components of the primer in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, at temperatures from 0 ° C to + 25 ° C. Keep away from fire!
