Soil enamel EP-158

Type:  Primer enamel EP-158 is a two-component paintwork material consisting of a semi-finished product and a hardener PEPA (TU 2413-357-00203447) or hardener No. 1 (TU BY 500021625.156), mixed before use. Prefabricated primer-enamel is a suspension of pigments, fillers and target additives in a solution of epoxy and perchlorovinyl resins in a mixture of organic solvents.

Scope:  Soil-enamel is designed to protect against corrosion of metal, reinforced concrete structures and equipment used in various atmospheric conditions and indoors (metal structures, cell communications towers, railway cars, ships of maritime transport, bridges, surfaces of pipelines, body and bottom of bodies cars, cardan shafts, etc.).

Advantages:  Specially selected components that are part of the primer-enamel, increase the mechanical and protective properties of the coating, providing strong adhesion to the metal and excellent anti-corrosion properties. The resulting coating dries quickly and has water, oil, benzo and salt resistance, as well as weather resistance. Soil enamel can be used as a primer — when applied with a thickness of 20–25 µm under coverings with various enamels (pentaphthalic, melamine-alkyd, urethane, etc.) or as enamel, as an independent coating — when applied with a thickness of at least

100 µm.

Surface preparation:  Preparation of the surface of the product for painting with primer-enamel is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations on the product, GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.

Oil, grease, paint, dirt and other substances, such as mineral contaminants, water-soluble salts, It is necessary to remove incisions, burrs, welding spatters, round sharp edges, teeth and welding seams. It should be thoroughly cleaned, dust-free, degreased and dried. It is the most up to 3 cm wide range of residues from fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding.

It is recommended to improve the protective properties of the surface oxides 1 – 2 according to GOST 9.402.

Coating:  EP-158 priming enamel is applied by pneumatic, airless and electrostatic spraying. Allowed by brush or roller.

Before applying it prefabricated must be thoroughly mixed, up to 100 mh add 0.55 pm hardener pep or 1.1 mh hardener no. 1, mix, filter and hold for at least 30 minutes. For application by pneumatic spraying, enamel is diluted with solvent, R-5A or R-5 (GOST 7827) spraying up to 5% by weight of the enamel primer .

When it comes to the electric field, it is a diluted solvent with RE-158 solvent (TU VU 500021625.189). diluted with the primer enamel, complies with the requirements of TNPA.

Priming enamel is at a temperature not lower than 15 ° C and relative air humidity not more than 65%. Soil enamel is dried at a temperature of

(70 ± 2) ° С for 1 h or at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С for at least 3 h. The thickness of the dried coating is 80 – 100 microns. Increase its thickness. Prior to commissioning at least 5 days at a temperature of (65), a relative humidity of not more than 65%.

The enamel consumption is about  80–90 µm is 330–370 g / m2.

It has been shown that it can be used for a period of 10 years. The thickness of the dried coating is 80-100 microns.

Precautionary measures:  It is necessary to take care of the room; use personal protective equipment (clothing, goggles, rubber gloves).

Storage:  Store prefabricated containerized closed container, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire! For example, it has been possible to complete the process of composing with TNPA.
