Enamel HS-759

Type : Enamel is a suspension of pigments in a solution of a copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate in a mixture of organic solvents with the addition of epoxy resin and a plasticizer.

Scope : enamels are used to paint the exterior surfaces of railway freight cars and tanks, equipment, metal and reinforced concrete structures exposed to solutions of mineral acids, alkalis, salts, corrosive gases (SO 2 , CO 2 , NO 2 , NH 3 ) and other chemical reagents with a temperature not exceeding 60 ° C, operated in atmospheric conditions of different climatic regions, as well as indoors.

Advantages:  Enamel is used to obtain a chemically resistant paint coating to protect the surface from the effects of aggressive media of alkaline and acidic nature.

Surface preparation:  Preparation of the surface of the product for painting is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the TNP on the product,
GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.

Oil, grease, marking paint, dirt and other substances, such as mineral contaminants, water-soluble salts that affect the quality of surface preparation, should be removed from the metal surface. It is necessary to remove incisions, burrs, welding spatters, round sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams. Then the surface should be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants, dust-free, degreased and dried. It is most thoroughly necessary to clean the surface in the weld zone up to 3 cm wide from residues of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding.

To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean the sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of cleaning oxides 1 – 2 according to GOST 9.402.

Application:  hardener No. 3 or hardener No. 5 is introduced into the enamel before use.

Mass fraction of the injected hardener №3 for enamel ХС-759 of hardener №3 – 3.0%; for hardener number 5 – 2.8%.

To dilute the enamel to a working viscosity of 14 – 16 s using a VZ-246 (or VZ-4) type viscometer with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm and at a temperature of (20.0 ± 0.5) ° C, use solvents P-4, P-4A according to
GOST 7827.

Enamels are applied to the surface by pneumatic spraying.

The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the working conditions (ambient temperature in the room, the diameter of the spray nozzle, the working pressure of compressed air, etc.).

In the case of storage at low temperatures, the enamel is kept in a warm room before application (to avoid moisture condensation on the surface to be painted during painting) for at least
24 hours.

In the case of surface cleaning with a sandblasting or shot blasting method, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra (GOST 2789).

The  enamel consumption for a single-layer coating is 130 – 160 g / m² without taking into account the complexity of the surface to be painted, its preparation, application method, color, staff qualification and other factors.

Storage : Enamel should be stored in a tightly closed container, in places inaccessible to children, protecting from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.

Precautionary measures : Persons associated with paint work must be provided with personal protective equipment (workwear, goggles, rubber gloves).

When carrying out painting works and after they finish, ventilate the room. The dried coating does not have a toxic effect on the environment and the human body.
