Enamel HS-759

Type : Primer and enamels are a suspension of pigments in a solution of a copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate in a mixture of organic solvents with the addition of epoxy resin and a plasticizer. Varnish is a solution of a copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate in a mixture of organic solvents with the addition of a plasticizer.

Scope : Primer, enamel and lacquer are used to paint the exterior surfaces of railway freight cars and tanks, equipment, metal and reinforced concrete structures exposed to the effects of mineral acid solutions, alkalis, salts, corrosive gases (SO 2 , CO 2 , NO 2 , NH 3 ) and other chemical reagents with a temperature not exceeding 60 ° C, used in atmospheric conditions of different climatic regions, as well as indoors.

The coating system and the service life of the coating are established for each aggressive medium in accordance with the regulatory and technical documentation for coloring certain types of products.

Advantages:  Primer, enamel and varnish are used to obtain a chemically resistant paint coating to protect the surface from the effects of corrosive and alkaline environments.

The primer is allowed to be used under weather-resistant perhlvinyl enamels of the HV brand and enamels based on vinyl chloride copolymers.

Surface preparation:  Preparation of the surface of the product for painting is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the TNP on the product,
GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.

Oil, grease, marking paint, dirt and other substances, such as mineral contaminants, water-soluble salts that affect the quality of surface preparation, should be removed from the metal surface. It is necessary to remove incisions, burrs, welding spatters, round sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams. Then the surface should be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants, dust-free, degreased and dried. It is most thoroughly necessary to clean the surface in the weld zone up to 3 cm wide from residues of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding.

To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean the sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of cleaning oxides 1 – 2 according to GOST 9.402.

Application:  before use, hardener No. 3 or hardener No. 5 is introduced into the primer and enamels.

The mass fraction of the injected hardener No. 3 for the XC-059 primer is 2.8%, and the hardener No. 5 is -2.6%. For enamel ХС-759 of hardener №3 – 3.0%; for hardener number 5 – 2.8%.

To dilute the primer, enamels and varnish to a working viscosity of 14 – 16 s using a VZ-246 type viscometer (or VZ-4) with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm at a temperature of (20.0 ± 0.5) ° C, apply solvents P-4, Р-4А in
accordance with GOST 7827.

Primer, enamel and varnish applied to the surface by means of pneumatic spraying.

The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the working conditions (ambient temperature in the room, the diameter of the spray nozzle, the working pressure of compressed air, etc.).

In case of storage at low temperatures, the primer, enamels and lacquer are kept in a warm room before application (to avoid moisture condensation on the painted surface during painting) for at least
24 hours.

In the case of surface cleaning with a sandblasting or shot blasting method, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra (GOST 2789).

The consumption of  primer, enamel and varnish on a single-layer coating is 120-150 g / m², 130-160 g / m² and 100-120 g / m², respectively, without taking into account the complexity of the painted surface, its preparation, application method, color, staff qualifications and other factors. .

Storage : Primer, enamel and lacquer should be stored in a tightly closed container, out of the reach of children, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.

Precautionary measures : Persons associated with paint work must be provided with personal protective equipment (workwear, goggles, rubber gloves).

When carrying out painting works and after they finish, ventilate the room. The dried coating does not have a toxic effect on the environment and the human body.
