Enamel UR-140

Type:  Polyurethane enamel is a two-component system consisting of an enamel semi-finished product and a polyisocyanate hardener.

Scope:  Enamels are intended for coloring the grounded metal surfaces of the products operated both in atmospheric conditions, and in rooms.

Recommendations for application:  Before applying the enamel primed surface, if necessary, cleaned with abrasive sandpaper (sanding pads of 4 or 5 are allowed). Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned from dust and grease, grind, degrease, dry and make a trial paint. If the appearance of the old paintwork is unknown, it should be checked for compatibility (it is recommended to carry out a control painting of a small part of the surface). In the case of swelling or peeling, the old coating must be removed. To avoid moisture condensation, the temperature of the surface to be painted must be at least 3 ° С higher than the dew point temperature. Recommended primers: EP-045, EP-045K (TU BY 5000021625.106),

GF-0119 (GOST 23343) and PF-031 (TU RB 00204547.088) production

JSC “Lakokraska”.

Before applying the prefabricated enamel, mix thoroughly and add a polyisocyanate hardener:

for matte (M) at 100 m.h. enamel semi-finished product – 10 m. hardener;

for semigloss (PG) per 100 m.ch. enamel semi-finished product – 15 m. hardener;

for high gloss (VG) at 100 m.h. enamel semi-finished product – 20 m. hardener.

The composed enamel is thoroughly mixed, incubated for 15-30 minutes and, depending on the method of application, diluted with solvent P-189D (TU BY 500021625.158). Enamels are applied using pneumatic, airless spraying, or, in small areas, with a brush. When applied by the method of pneumatic spraying, the enamel is diluted with solvent P-189D in an amount of not more than 35% by weight of enamel, and when applied by airless spraying and a brush – in an amount not more than 5% by weight of enamel. Enamels can be applied with a brush with an initial viscosity.

The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the production conditions (ambient temperature in the room, the diameter of the spray nozzle, the working pressure of compressed air and other factors).

Drying time of a single-layer coating with a thickness of 15-20 μm at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and relative humidity of air (65 ± 5)% is not more than 15 hours.

In order to obtain a more durable decorative protective coating, it is recommended to apply enamels in two layers using the “wet on wet” method with intermediate drying at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С for 5-7 minutes. The recommended thickness of the dried two-layer coating is not less than 50 microns. The operational quality of the coating is obtained after exposure at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and a relative humidity of not more than 80% for 5 days. It is not allowed to apply and dry the coating at a temperature below 15 ° C and a relative humidity of more than 80%.

It is not less than 6 hours that it has reached a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C. With increasing air temperature, the reduction of enamels decreases.

The consumption of  enamels for a two-layer dried coating is

100–120 g / m², for qualifications of personnel and other factors.
