 1)  For consumers using an airless or combined method of applying primer-enamel is available with a conditional viscosity by viscometer VZ-246 with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm (VZ-4) of at least 150 s (indicated when ordering).

Advantages:  Soil-enamel forms a weather-resistant coating that combines high adhesion and physico-mechanical properties, as well as having excellent water, moisture and salt resistance. Soil-enamel dries quickly in natural conditions and has a small consumption with high hiding. Priming enamel combines the properties of a primer and enamel, so it can be applied to a non-primed surface. Primer enamel as an independent coating is applied in 3 layers, as a primer for enamels based on modified alkyd resins – in 1 layer. The primer-enamel coating is resistant to temperature changes from minus 60 ° С to plus 60 ° С.

Surface preparation:  The service life of the paint coating with long-term preservation of decorative and anti-corrosion properties largely depends on the degree of surface preparation of the painted product. The preparation of the surface of the product for painting with primer-enamel is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations on the product, GOST 9.402 and STB ISO 12944-4.

Oil, grease, marking paint, dirt and other substances, such as mineral contaminants, water-soluble salts that affect the quality of surface preparation, should be removed from the metal surface. It is necessary to remove incisions, burrs, welding spatters, round sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams. Then the surface should be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants, dust-free, degreased and dried. It is most thoroughly necessary to clean the surface in the weld zone up to 3 cm wide from residues of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding.

To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean the sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of cleaning oxides 1 – 2 according to GOST 9.402.

Reducing the quality of surface preparation leads to a decrease in the service life of the coating.

Coating: The  primer enamel can be applied by airless spraying and a brush with an initial viscosity.

Before use, the primer-enamel is thoroughly mixed, if necessary, filtered and applied to the previously prepared surface by means of pneumatic spraying, airless spraying or, in small areas, with a brush. When applied by the method of pneumatic spraying, primer enamel is diluted with solvents (P-204 according to TU BY 500021625.204 ,, toluene according to GOST 14710, ortho-xylene according to TU BY 300042199.015-2010 or with solvent according to
GOST 10214) in an amount up to 30% by weight of primer enamel, and when applied by airless spray and brush – in an amount of not more than 5% by weight of the primer enamel.

The consumer independently selects the working viscosity depending on the production conditions (ambient temperature in the room, the diameter of the spray nozzle, the working pressure of compressed air, etc.)

Soil-enamel can be applied at a temperature of from + 5 ° С to plus 35 ° С. In the case of storage at low temperatures, the primer enamel is kept in a warm room before application (to avoid moisture condensation on the painted surface during painting)

It is recommended to apply primer enamel using modified alkyds as a primer for resin-based enamels on the basis of resins. Enamels are recommended to be applied no earlier than after 1 h of drying the primer enamel at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and a relative humidity of air (65 ± 5)%. For long-term storage of metal structures painted with primer-enamel, before applying the enamel from the surface, salt, grinding products and other contaminants should be removed by washing with clean fresh water and drying the surface to be coated.

As an independent coating, primer enamel is recommended to be applied at least three layers with interlayer drying for 10–15 minutes at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C. Drying time to degree 3 at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° C and a relative air humidity of (65 ± 5)% of the coating consisting of three layers of primer-enamel is at least 6 hours.

At lower temperatures and higher relative humidity, the drying time is increased.

The thickness of the dried single-layer coating should be at least 25 microns. In the case of surface cleaning with a sandblasting or shot blasting method, the coating thickness should be increased taking into account the degree of surface roughness Ra (GOST 2789).

It is allowed to dry the coating at a temperature of (60 ± 2) ° C for at least 20 minutes.

Exposure of the coating before operation for at least 7 days.

The consumption of  soil enamel on a single-layer dried coating is 60 – 80 g / m² without taking into account the complexity of the painted surface, the method of application, the color of the soil enamel, personnel qualifications and other factors.

The service life of the  coating consisting of three layers of primer-enamel, applied on the prepared metal surface, in conditions of UHL1 is not less than 7 years, in conditions of T1 is not less than 3 years. The coating retains its protective and decorative properties while observing the requirements of the TNPA for coating, drying and operating in climate conditions UHL1 and T1.

Storage:  Enamel soil should be stored in a tightly closed container, protected from a closed container, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep away from fire.
