Type:  Quick-drying single-component primer-enamel based on alkyd modified resin with the addition of high-quality anti-corrosion pigments and fillers, as well as functional additives, desiccant and solvent.

Scope : Primercoat primer enamel is intended for anticorrosive protection of ferrous metal products operating at temperatures from minus 60 ° C to plus 100 ° C and operated in various climatic conditions, including in the conditions of industrial atmosphere.

Soil-enamel is recommended to be used for painting process equipment, agricultural machinery, industrial metal structures, metal elements and fences, painting the chassis and suspension of cars, forged furniture and other metal products.

Benefits:

– the primer enamel coating dries quickly;

– the high quality of the pigment-priming enamel gives the resulting coating excellent decorative properties – a smooth matte surface is formed;

– due to the content in the composition of the soil-enamel mixture of anticorrosive pigments, prevents the development of corrosion on the metal;

– primer-enamel has excellent adhesion to metal and when applied in a single layer, can be used as a primer;

– a two-layer primer enamel coating replaces the coating consisting of a single layer of primer and two layers of enamel;

– soil-enamel forms a weatherproof, waterproof, salt-resistant mineral oil coating;

– primer-enamel is one-component, has good painting properties, low consumption (good covering ability).

Surface preparation : The service life of the paint coating with long-term preservation of decorative and anti-corrosion properties largely depends on the degree of surface preparation of the painted product. The preparation of the surface of the product for painting with primer-enamel is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations on the product, GOST 9.402 or STB ISO 12944-4.

Oil, grease, marking paint, dirt and other substances, such as mineral contaminants, water-soluble salts that affect the quality of surface preparation, should be removed from the metal surface. It is necessary to remove incisions, burrs, welding spatters, round sharp edges, corners, teeth and welding seams. Then the surface should be thoroughly cleaned of rust, scale and other contaminants, dust-free, degreased and dried. It is most thoroughly necessary to clean the surface in the weld zone up to 3 cm wide from residues of fluxes, alkaline slags and oxides formed during welding.

To improve the protective properties of the surface, it is recommended to pre-clean the sandblasting or shot blasting to the degree of cleaning oxides 1 – 2 according to GOST 9.402.

Painting should be done no later than 4 hours after surface preparation. Coloring is not allowed during precipitation, as well as on wet and icy surfaces.

On the welds, end edges and hard-to-reach spots, prior to painting, primer-enamel is applied with a brush in the form of a “strip layer”.

The previously painted surfaces are cleaned of the fragile layers of the old coating, the peeled off old coating is removed, the entire surface is mechanically cleaned, dedusted, degreased and dried. If the type of the old paintwork is not known, it should be checked for compatibility (it is recommended to carry out a control painting of a small part of the surface). In case of swelling or flaking, the old coating must be removed.

To avoid moisture condensation, the temperature of the surface to be painted should be above the dew point temperature by at least 3 ° C.

Reducing the quality of surface preparation leads to a decrease in the service life of the coating.

Coating : Primercoat priming enamel is applied using pneumatic spraying, electrostatic spraying or, in small areas, with a brush. It is allowed to apply primer enamel by airless or combined spraying methods. Before using the primer-enamel is thoroughly mixed, if necessary, filtered. When applied by pneumatic spraying, primer enamel is diluted with solvent AK (TU ВY 500021625.201), xylene

(GOST 9410), orthoxylol (TU B Y 300042199.015), solvent oil (GOST 10214) in an amount of not more than 25%, and when applied by airless spraying, the combined method of spraying and brush – in an amount not more than 5% by weight of the soil enamel. Priming enamel can be applied with a brush with an initial viscosity.

When spraying in the electric field, the primer enamel is diluted with ethyl celloslose (GOST 8313) in an amount of not more than 25% of the mass of the primer enamel.

Soil-enamel is applied on the previously prepared surface of the product in one or two layers at a temperature of 15 – 35 ° C and a relative humidity of not more than 80%. Drying of each layer is at least 50 minutes at a temperature of (20 ± 2) ° С and relative humidity of air (65 ± 5)%. When using primer enamel as a primer coating, the recommended thickness of the dried single-layer coating is not less than 20 microns. When using primer enamel as an independent coating, the recommended thickness of the dried single-layer coating is not less than 40 microns. After sandblasting or shot blasting, the thickness of the coating should be increased taking into account the degree of roughness Ra. With a change in temperature and relative humidity of the air, the drying time of the primer-enamel increases.

When applying paint materials from other manufacturers, forming a final coating, it is necessary to produce a trial paint.

For the final formation of the coating, the painted product is recommended to withstand 7 days before use.

Consumption:  For final coating formation, the painted product is recommended to withstand 7 days before use. The consumption of soil-enamel on a single-layer dried coating with a thickness of 15-20 microns is 55 – 70 g / m2 without taking into account the complexity of the painted surface, its preparation, application method, color of the soil-enamel, personnel qualifications and other factors

Service life: The coating system, consisting of two layers of primer-enamel “Primecoat”, deposited on a metal surface retains protective and decorative properties in a moderately cold climate, no less

10 years, in a tropical climate – at least 2 years. The thickness of the dried two-layer coating is 80 – 90 microns.

Precautionary measures : when carrying out painting works in the enclosed space, and also after their termination careful airing is necessary. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands.

Storage: Store  the enamel in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heating devices, out of the reach of children. Keep away from fire.
